This is an interesting promotion. A virtual farm has partnered with a company that sells real produce. Virtual Goods News reports that Zynga, which creates a virtual farm game called FarmVille, is partnering with real world produce distributor Green Giant. Green Giant, a General Mills brand, will sell packages of real carrots, tamotoes and salad mixes that contain virtual item codes that buyers can redeem for Farm Cash. Farm Cash is a virtual currency used in FarmVille.
Virtual Goods News says the Green Giant products will contain about 15 or less worth of Farm Cash. Virtual Goods News also says the real money value of 15 Farm Cash is about $3.
You can find out how to redeem the Farm Cash from Green Giant Fresh packages here. Now if we could only turn those virtual FarmVille crops into real food...
