THR's The Live Feed reports that the premiereo of the new season of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was watched by 9.8 million people, a record for TLC.
The premiere episode marked TLC's highest ratings ever among adults (6.3 rating) and women 18-34 (9.1) and received twice as total viewers (9.8 million) as the show's previous series high.
"Jon & Kate" was also higher rated than any show on broadcast TV last night.
Affair rumors have clearly spiked interest in the show and given the Gosselins more name recognition but it remains to be seen if they will be able to repeat the big turnout.
