First Lady Michelle Obama returned to New York City on a tour of the fine arts. She appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the morning for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the museum's newly refurbished American Arts wing. In the evening, she and Jill Biden attended the American Ballet Theatre's Spring Gala to kick off the new ballet season and encourage donors to support the arts. We think it's fantastic that she's taking such an interest in supporting the fine arts, which are suffering quite a bit during the recession as corporate donations have decreased. Take a look:
