One tip is to shop for your fish and meat at the end of your shopping trip so it stays cooler longer. Other tips include check the sell-by date, give the meat a smell test and check for moisture on the outside of the packaging. She also says shoppers should consider bringing a cooler bag to keep purchased meats in before they get home to the refrigerator or freezer. Take a look:
