The first attempt to contain the oil using a giant 100 ton dome has been unsuccessful. The dome or containment box was placed over the leaker. However, a BP official says ice crystals formed on the inside of the oil containment box and plugged up the top of the dome. BP crews had to move the box away to study the problem. A BP official says they wouldn't call the dome plan a failure yet, but it doesn't sound good. Take a look:
