Country star Chely Wright says she is gay. The singer told People that she originally held back from coming out because, "There had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality. I wasn't going to be the first."
She obviously changed her mind. Chely also told People, "Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out."
Chely Wright once dated country star Brad Paisley. USA Todayreports that Chely told Access Hollywood that Paisley did not know she was gay. She says, "When I realized he was wanting forever with me...I could see the damage I was doing to him, and I cut him off completely, cold turkey."
