Airports Using Flir Thermal Imaging Cameras to Detect H1N1

The Flir thermal imaging camera is being used at some airports around the world to detect fever and perhaps the H1N1 virus. The downside to the thermal imaging cameras is a person can go undetected by the thermal cameras while they are asymptomatic. The H1N1 flu straing, like other flu strains, has an incubation period of a few days. The CDC says, "The estimated incubation period is unknown and could range from 1-7 days, and more likely 1-4 days."
