National Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 1st

Free Comic Book Day

May 1st is National Free Comic Book Day. Over two million comic books will be given away on Free Comic Book Day. Now in its ninth year, Free Comic Book Day is an annual event where participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books free to anyone who comes into their shops. Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, and Marvel Comics are among the many publishers creating these special titles for Free Comic Book Day 2010.

Along with free reading material, comic book stores will also have creator signings and special sales. Stores also encourage customers to dress up as their favorite super hero or comic book character. Fans can check out the list of available titles on the newly launched Free Comic Book Day website at freecomicbookday.com. You can keep up with Free Comic Book Day events on Twitter at twitter.com/FCBD10.
