Survey: 25% of Consumers to Buy Mother's Day Gifts Online
Internet Retailerreports that a survey found that 25% of consumers plan to shop online for Mother's Day gifts this year. They research poll of 1,209 online consumers also found that 15% plan to spend more online than they did in in 2009.
The report found that a quarter of consumers say they plan to shop online for a Mother's Day gift this year and 15% say they plan to spend more on the web than they did a year ago. 21% of consumers say they plan to shop online for a Father's Day gift and 10% say they'll spend more on the web than they did a year ago.
If Mother's Day spending does climb online it would be another sign the economy is improving. However, increased online spending does not always coincide with increased offline spending.
