FAA Boss Seeks End to Air Traffic Controllers Sleeping on the Job
There have been several recent incidents of air traffic controllers caught sleeping on the job. FAA administrator Randy Babbitt is implementing a plan to make it stop. He issued a statement last week saying the FAA is conducting a "top to bottom review of the way we operate our air traffic control system."
The FAA has also issued new controller rules. One of the new controller rules is air traffic controllers must have at least 9 hours off between shifts to avoid fatigue. Take a look:
