Jodie Foster is defending Mel Gibson, but she doesn't defend his behavior. She says when "someone is struggling you don't run away from them." Jodie directed The Beaver, which stars Mel Gibson as a man struggling from depression. He also happens to have a beaver hand puppet. The film opens in theaters this weekend.
