HTC Launches Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless

Droid Incredible Smartphone

HTC's new Android smartphone Droid Incredible will be available on Verizon Wireless beginning April 29. The new phone featues a seven-panel home screen with a wide selection of interactive widgets. It also contains impressive specs including a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel camera, 3.7 inch WVGA (480x800) AMOLED display, optical joystick, touch-sensitive Home, Menu, Back and Search keys, GPS, proximity sensor, light sensor,d digital compass, Wi-Fi and 3.5 mm headset jack.

PC World points out that the Droid Incredible name may confuse some consumers, especially since both the HTC Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid are both available through Verizon. Droid Incredible is made by HTC, a different company than Motorola, which makes the Motorola Droid that has been heavily advertised lately. HTC is aTaiwan-based manufacturer of smartphones. Motorola is a U.S. based telecommunications company. The Droid Incredbile smartphone is being compared to Google's Nexus One - see here and here. Droid Incredible will cost $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. It can be pre-ordered on at verizonwireless.com beginning on April 19 and it will be in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on April 29.
