Microsoft Announces Kin Smartphones for Social Networking Users
Microsoft has unveiled two cell phones targeted at users of social networks like Facebook, MySpace Twitter. The cell phones were designed to be photo friendly. They both contain cameras that capture photos in JPEG format and video in MOV and WMV formats. Microsoft says you can tap the screen to share the photos on social networking websites. The two touchscreen phones are called the Kin One and the Kin Two. Both of the phones contain a Zune powered media players.
The Kin One has a QVGA display, 4GB of internal storage, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G cellular radio.
The Kin Two has a HVGA display, QWERTY slide keyboard, 8GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel camera, stereo speakers, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G cellular radio.
Pricing information for the new Kin phones has not been given but Microsoft has established a website at Kin.com. Engadget says the Kin phones will be available through Verizon in May.
