We really enjoyed Marley & Me, the family-friendly film version of the bestelling book. The film stars Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston and a number of yellow labs who play Marley, the dog that came to have such an influence on the family's lives. Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston have great chemistry and are believable as they age from newlyweds to parents with a houseful of kids. There is definitely comedy here, but the story has a serious undertone as it explores the couple's relationship over a number of years.

Marley & Me was based on the memoir by journalist and author John Grogan. He has also written a cute children's book called Bad Dog, Marley! that would make a great gift for a child to go along with the DVD.
