Nikon has released its first green binoculars called ecobins. The binoculars were made with eco-friendly glass, manufactured with no harmful chemicals. Nikon says ecobins' non-chloride rubber body uses no harmful inks or dyes. The straps were made with Tencel, which produced from sustainable Eucalyptus forests. Tencel was also used to make the travel case.
Nikon says the waterproof and fogproof binoculars also maintain the optics quality found in its other products. Ecobins will retail for $169.95. Amazon.com is currently offering ecobins for $169.95
The packaging Ecobins comes in is constructed from 85% recycled material and is
printed on recyclable and waterproof FiberStone paper.
