Alexander McQueen's Ashes to be Scattered on the Isle of Skye
Vogue UKreports that Alexander McQueen's ashes will be scattered on the Isle of Skye. Alexander McQueen considered the Scottish island his ancestral home. He also based his Highland Rape collection on ths island.
The Scottish island, which he regarded as his ancestral home, was of huge significance to the London-born designer. One of his most famous collections, Highland Rape, was inspired by the Highland clearances and when he collected his CBE in 2003 the designer wore full Highland dress. He also wore a kilt - and dressed his date for the evening, Sarah Jessica Parker, in tartan - at the 2006 Costume Institute Gala.
This is Londonquotes Alexander McQueen's brother Michael as saying, "Alexander was back and forward all over the world, but he felt at home when he was in Scotland." The article says McQueen's father and five siblings will travel to the island to scatter Alexander McQueen's ashes.
