AnnaSophia Robb, Carrie Underwood, Helen Hunt Star in Soul Surfer

AnnaSophia Robb has the lead role in the movie, Soul Surfer, as Bethany Hamilton, a surfer who lost her left arm in a shark attack when she was just 13. Bethany was determined to get back in the water and returned to surfing less than a month after losing her arm. She went on to have a successful surfing career after teaching herself to surf with only one arm.

Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt play Bethany's parents in the film. Country singer Carrie Underwood makes her cinematic debut in the film as Sarah Hill. Carrie's wearing a colorful beach dress in the above photograph. Other stars in the film include Lorraine Nicholson, Kevin Sorbo and Ross Thomas.

The film, directed by Sean McNamara, is based on Bethany's book, Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board. The film arrives in theaters on April 8. Here's the trailer:
