Japan Still Accepting International Mail, But Expect Delays, Says U.S. Postal Service

The postal administration of Japan continues to accept all types of international mail despite the March 11th earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis. The U.S. Postal Service says mailers are advised to expect delays in the delivery of all types of mail sent to Japan.

USPS says significant delays could be experienced for items addressed to northern Japan, including Sapporo, Sendai, Hokkaido, Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima, and Ibaraki.

Updates about international mail can be found here on the USPS website. The website for Japan's postal service can be found here.
