Peter Graves, who was best known for his role as Jim Phelps in the original hit tv show Mission Impossible, has
died. He was 83 years old and is reported to have died of natural causes.
Recently, J.J. Abrams said that he was considering bringing Graves back to the franchise for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 4, which will star Tom Cruise. J.J. said that Graves was interested in the role. How sad that will not happen; we've seen every rerun of the original series; it was a fantastic show.
Graves had a lengthy film and television career. He was the host of A&E's Biography and even dabbled in comedy in the film Airplane!. He is the younger brother of actor James Arness, who starred as Marshall Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke.
