More Consumers Turning to Coupons to Save Money

CNN's Stephanie Elam talks about how consumers are using more coupons because of the ongoing tough economy. A report from Inmar indicated that coupon usage increased from 2.6 billion coupons redeemed in 2008 to 3.3 billion in 2009 - a 27% jump. It is the first increase in coupon usage since Inmar start keeping track in 1988. Marketers are also issuing more coupons with an average value of $1.07. Redemption on Internet coupons has also tripled in the past year. CNN says some good coupon sites include smartsource.com, couponforum.com, couponmom.com, coupons.com and grocerycoupons.com.
