Maggie Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Crazy Heart. Maggie walked the red carpet in a one shoulder column gown by Dries Van Noten, which had just been shown on the runways in Paris the week before the Oscars. The hand-painted, floral silk fabric was beautiful, although it appears to crease quite easily. You almost never see prints at the Oscars, but this year both Maggie and Rachel McAdams both wore print gowns. Maggie's gown fit with her indie style and she has the figure to pull off the look.
To keep the gown from looking a bit too informal for the Oscars, Maggie turned up the wattage with the jewelry. She wore vintage ivory and diamond calla lily pendant earrings, a vintage 18k yellow gold and diamond bracelet,
and a vintage platinum and diamond bracelet with emerald and sapphire brooch, all by Fred Leighton. She also wore a Jennifer Behr custom-made jet crystal hair ornament.
