Apple Netbook or Large iPod Touch Rumors Still Alive

Digitimes reported today that a Taiwan-based company named Wintek is busy making panels for an Apple Netbook that will ship in the third quarter of 2009.

No Apple Netbook currently exists so this means that if the story is true - if Apple really is ordering these panels - then Apple must have plans to build a Netbook-like gadget. PC World notes that Apple has blasted today's Netbook designs. This means that if Apple was going to build a Netbook it would do its own unique way - possibly like the much-rumored large iPod Touch.

Silicon Alley Insider also thinks Apple will "take advantage of its expertise in multi-touch screens and virtual keyboards to make a device that's about four times the size of an iPod touch, selling for around $600 to $700."

Let's hope Apple is making an iPod Touch with a much larger screen. These devices would still be portable but they would have a larger screen that would be more useful for reading, playing games, browsing the web and watching movies.
