Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is a huge hit for Walt Disney. Alice in Wonderland made over $116 million over the weekend making it the biggest March opening ever. It is also Disney's biggest 3-D hit. Take a look:
Alice in Wonderland was followed by Brooklyn's Finest, which opened with a small box office take of around $13 million. Shutter Island finished third - its box office tally is now approaching the $100 million mark. Shutter Island was followed by Cop Out and Avatar. Avatar has now made over $720 million and the U.S. and nearly $2.6 billion worldwide.
