Vivienne Westwood used the classic school girl as her inspiration for her collection shown during London Fashion Week. Vivienne is 68 and has moved a bit away from her punk roots, although the punk influence is always referenced in one way or another in her collections. Vivienne cast Jo Wood, the estranged wife of Rolling Stones band member Ronnie Wood, as the Headmistress giving her a Harry Potter-like robe to show her authority. Fun trivia note: Vivienne actually designed the formal academic robes for Kings College in London.
The looks echoed the classic cliques: the Goth girl, the Gossip Girl and so on.
The collection referenced classic private school uniforms, with stripes, blazers, shorts and pants. Plaid, pirate boots and big shoulders were all in evidence. Here's a clip from the show:
