Angelina Jolie's Emerald Earrings on 2009 Oscars Red Carpet

We just can't get past those gorgeous emeralds that Angelina Jolie wore with her black Elie Saab gown. You can see them clearly in the red carpet video below.
Lorraine Schwartz provided a 65-carat Colombian emerald ring and these 115-carat emerald drop earrings. We've never seen emeralds this big outside of a museum. They don't sparkle like a green tourmaline or a created emerald, of course. Real emeralds that big will always have visible inclusions and that distinctive green color. But these are real -- and they're spectacular.
We love the fact that they have no other stones on them and that the 18k gold setting is nearly invisible: all you see are giant emeralds. We think someone needs to recreate these in costume jewelry immediately.
