Isaiah Mustafa Could See Career Boost From Hilarious Old Spice Commercial
Isaiah Mustafa, an actor and former NFL player, is the star of the hilarious "man your man could smell like" Old Spice commercial. The YouTube video for the hit commercial already has over 3 million views. That's good news both for Old Spice and for Isaiah Mustafa. Isaiah's limited acting career could get a boost from the popular ad. The L.A. Timesreports that the actor is already getting more opportunities for work because of the commercial.
"I just tried to create this lovable, oblivious [buffoon], who's a little bit smug," he said. (OK, Isaiah didn't really say "buffoon." Nobody says "buffoon" except maybe for the guy on the horse. You get the idea, though. In a lovable way, of course.)
"But he really just wants to help."
Mustafa talked to the Ministry from the set of the ABC series "Castle," where his FBI agent character was soon to be put to work "sweeping the building." It was a job he booked right before the ad hit -- though since then, he says, he's been getting a lot more opportunities for work.
Another sign that there is growing interest in Isaiah is that he just landed an appearance on The Ellen Show. Ellen DeGeneres tweeted earlier today that he will be on her show next week.
