The film, directed by Martin Scorsese, was based on the novel by mystery author Dennis Lehane. The film made just over $40 million at the box office. Last week's number one film, Valentine's Day, slipped to number two. Avatar came in third. It is closing in on the $700 million mark for its U.S. domestic box office total and nearing $2.5 billion worldwide.
