Cepia Announces New Zhu Zhu Pets at Toy Fair

New Zhu Zhu Pets

Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters from Cepia were incredibly popular last year. They were very hard to find during the holidays. Walmart and Toys R Us even used the hamsters as bait to lure customers into stores. CNN reports that Cepia has made over $70 million from its wildly popular Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters so far and Zhu Zhu Pets can be found in over 7 million U.S. households.

Cepdia announced some new versions of its robotic pets at this year's Toy Fair. They include two new lines: Zhu Zhu Rockstars and Zhu Zhu Wild Bunch.

Zhu Zhu Rockstars and Zhu Zhu Wid Bunch

The Rockstars line includes four hamsters with spikey hair and an attitude. Their names are Pax, Kingston, Rider and Roxie. Cepia was inspired by celebrity baby names when they chose the names. The Wild Bunch line includes robotic critters that are not hamsters. There is a raccoon, bunny rabbit, a skunk and a hedgehog.

CNN also reports that Cepia is launching a Kung Zhu line of battling hamsters made up of "Special Forces" and "Ninja Warriors." Cepia plans to launch around forty different Zhu Zhu Pets in 2010 with a new group of hamsters or other critters launching every six weeks. Take a look:
