British Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen Found Dead at 40
The fashion world is mourning the loss of British fashion designer Alexander McQueen today. The Daily Mailreports that he was discovered dead today after taking his own life. Alexander McQueen had been grief stricken over the loss of two people that were very close to him. His mother died on February 2nd. The designer also recently lost his close friend, Isabella Blow, to suicide. Entertainment Weekly has a list of some of the tweets Alexander McQueen posted in the days before taking his life.

On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family.
Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this.
One of Alexander McQueen's lines, McQ, was scheduled to show at New York Fashion Week this afternoon, but the show was cancelled.
