NYU Professor Embeds Camera in the Back of His Head

New York University photography professor Wafaa Bilal had a titanium plate implanted in his head, to which he attached a camera. He says it did hurt, although they used a local anesthetic. He is one of 23 artists whose work will be diplayed at Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar.
The images from the camera will be transmitted to the museum for a year. Wafaa is Iraqi; he fled Iraq to escape Saddam Hussein. His project is called The Third Eye. Jeanne Moos of CNN wonders what the TSA is going to make of him when he goes through airport security.
Update: The professor later had to have the camera removed. It didn't seem like a great idea at the time. Bilia has now had to have the camera surgically removed from his head because his body rejected one the titanium posts anchoring the device to his skull. Bilal is not giving up. He plans to embed a lighter camera in his head once he heals from his last attempt. Take a look:
