Mattel Debuts Angela Merkel Barbie Doll at Toy Fair
This Barbie doll based on German Chancellor Angela Merkel was one of the toys that debuted at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. The Barbie has Chancellor Merkel's hairstyle and wears a similar jacket. Telegraphsays Mattel made the doll because they believe Mrs. Merkel is a positive inspiration for young girls.
Mattel, the company that makes Barbie dolls, said that Mrs Merkel was an inspiration for young girls.
"She's simply a good role model for girls around the world," said a spokesman.
While she is yet to comment on the doll, Mrs Merkel will be flattered by its youthful look and slim waistline devoid of any of the physical downsides of the onset of middle age.
