Gwyneth Paltrow gives a revealing interview in the March issue of British Elle. Gwyneth talks about the state of her marriage, her love of fashion, the backlash against GOOP and why she's going to start smoking again when she's 70.
On the rumors her marriage is on the rocks: "It doesn't behoove us to be a public couple. He certainly doesn't want to be that. So it's just better if we don't -- I mean, we've never ever walked down a red carpet
together, we never will. If people think that that means we're not together, then -- ha ha ha! -- so be it."
About a recent Stella McCartney micro-mini skirted red carpet look: "People don't realise, sometimes you wear a dress because your friend made it. I just got out of sweatpants, out of mummy mode. I love fashion, but when you're breastfeeding and you're a stone-and-a-half overweight, it's demoralising to try to wear good clothes."
About the GOOP haters: "I saw this blog of people writing horrible things about me. And, you know, for a second you lose perspective and your ego is so wounded. You think, how could people hate me or hate my intentions or what I'm trying to do? I'm a good person and I'm trying to put good things into the world. I am who I am. I can't pretend to be somebody who makes £15,000 a year. That would be completely inauthentic. I know what my intention is -- and if it [GOOP] makes one person's life better, then it's worth it. And f**k the haters!"
On her love of smoking: "The last cigarette I smoked was the day I found out I was pregnant with Apple. I'm so pissed off it gives you cancer. But then, once you have children, if you've witnessed a death like I did with my father, you just can't. But I've decided that when I'm about 70 I'm going to start smoking again. Why not? I can't wait!"
