Tweets Analyzed to Determine Why People Like or Dislike the iPad

Attensity Group Twitter iPad Hate Chart

The Attensity Group analyzed the public reaction in Twitter to Apple's latest gadget, the Apple iPad. Using its Attensity Analyze for VOC analysis application suite, Attensity analyzed a total of 55,000 tweets. Twenty thousand tweets were pulled in the two hours prior to the January 27 event; another 20,000 two hours post-announcement; and an additional 15,000 four days later.

The five issues most commonly discussed in those positive about the iPad were iPad applications, screen quality and keyboard; its comparison to the iPhone; and its potential as an Amazon Kindle "killer."

For those people who disliked or hated the iPad, the reasons most often expressed are related to its lack of Flash support; lack of a camera; inability for the user to replace the battery himself; or that the person already has an iPhone or Kindle and thus views the iPad as redundant.

You can see more graphs of Attensity's research here.
