Beyonce and Taylor Swift took home a total of ten awards at last night's Grammy Awards. Beyonce was nominated ten times and Taylor Swift was nominated eight times.
Beyonce took home six Grammy Awards last night, including "Song of the Year" (for "Single Ladies"). She broke the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in a single year, while bringing her career Grammy total up to 16 (13 as a solo artist and 3 with Destiny's Child.) Beyonce other honors included Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("Halo"), Best Female R&B Vocal Performance ("Single Ladies"), Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance ("At Last"), Best R&B Song ("Single Ladies") and Best Contemporary R&B Album (I Am Sasha Fierce). Beyonce talks about her record night in the clip below. Take a look:
Taylor Swift took home four awards from last night's 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, including Album of The Year for Fearless. Taylor, who turned 20 in December, is the youngest artist in history to win Album of the Year. Taylor also won the Grammy for Best Country Album for "Fearless," and took home trophies for Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance for her hit "White Horse."
Taylor called her big win a "beautiful, beautiful surprise," saying from the stage, "Thank you so much! I just hope you know how much this means to me, and to Nathan [Chapman], my producer, and to all these musicians that you see on this stage, that we get to take this back to Nashville! This is for my dad: Thank you for all those times you said I could do whatever I wanted in life. And my mom: You're my best friend.....All of us, when we're 80 years old and we're telling the same stories again and again to our grandkids... this is the story we'll be telling."
Taylor Swift did drop one of her Grammy trophies. Hopefully, it can be glued back together.
