Italian Prince Emmanuel Filiberto of Savoy to Launch Fashion Line
Italian Prince Emmanuel Filiberto of Savoy toldDi piu that he will soon be launching his own fashion line. The line will be branded "Prince of Italy" and the clothes will be designed by Raimondo Ciofani under the direction of the prince. The Prince said, "I have always been very demanding about clothes and I told myself I would like to wear the clothing I created."
The line will bear the "Made in Italy," stamp -- specifically in the southern city of Bari -- to "showcase Italian excellency," the 36-year-old prince told the weekly.
His summer collection will be on sale in shops soon, he said, adding the clothes would be fashioned by designer Raimondo Ciofani, but "under my instructions and according to my style."
Grandson of Italy's last king, the prince ran in last April's legislative elections as head of the small "Values and Future" movement that captured only 0.4 of the vote.
Prince Emmanuel Filiberto of Savoy married French actress Clotilde Courau in 2003. Princess Clotilde wore a wedding gown designed by Valentino.
