Catherine Zeta-Jones shares her favorite beauty secrets and none of them are expensive treatments. The Welsh beauty washes her hair with beer and uses a scrub of honey and salt to keep her skin soft and supple.
'I rub a mixture of honey and salt all over my body to moisturise and exfoliate,' she says.
'You wash it off and your skin is gorgeous. Also, I love to eat an apple after a meal, just to cleanse my teeth - they always look polished afterwards.'
If there aren't any apples in the fruit bowl, a strawberry will suffice.
'The juice or pulp of strawberries contains malic acid which serves as an astringent and can lighten surface stains,' she explains. ' Pineapples work the same way.'
The Swansea-born mother of two, who now lives in Bermuda with her actor husband Michael Douglas, became the global face of Elizabeth Arden in 2002 after signing a £5million contract.
In 2005, she was voted the celebrity with the 'best dressed' hair in a nationwide survey.
However, while her rather unusual beauty regime appears to have its benefits, she admits it has its drawbacks too. 'I do condition my hair with honey and beer.
'I smell like the bottom of a beer barrel for days afterwards but it's very good for the hair.'

Despite the beauty regime, she admits not even she can look great every hour of the day.
'There are people who expect me to look the way I do on-screen, where I have a great director of photography and fantastic lighting,' she points out.
'I'm sorry to disappoint people, but I don't look like that all the time - no actress does.'
We've used a honey and salt scrub before, but it was at a spa and we didn't mix it ourselves. It certainly left our pedicured tootsies looking lovely.
