Pie Face Bakery Opens in Manhattan on Australia Day
Pie Face - a bakery cafe in Australia - celebrated the grand opening of its first U.S. location in Manhattan on January 26, 2012, which is Australia Day. The 24-hour take-out shop brings the iconic Australian meat pie to the U.S. with its location next to the landmark Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway and West 53rd Street. Pie Face will also bring its Wake Me Up! Coffee roast to Manhattan.
Pie Face sells more than seven million Australian meat pies each year in Australia. The company plans to have 10 stores in New York by June 2013. They also plan to expand to other major U.S. cities, including Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
