Fashion Star is a new fashion reality tv show that will premiere on NBC on Tuesday, March 13. The series will be hosted by supermodel Elle Macpherson. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and John Varvatos will act as mentors.
One of the aspects of Fashion Star that is unique is that executives from Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and H&M will serve as judges. NBC says they will "vie for the right to purchase and exclusively carry the work of the up-and-coming designers each week." Designers who do not sell any of their items to the buyers will up for elimination. Americans will be allowed to to purchase the designs immediately following the episode.
