This ice train was carved from 4,000-pound blocks of ice. The train is part of the recently completed Children's Ice Gallery in Anchorage, Alaska's Town Square Park. The ice sculptures are part of the city's New Year's Eve celebration, which also include ice skating, fire jugglers, live music and fireworks. Anchorage is one of the last major U.S. cities to ring in the new year. The Anchorage ice gallery is carved in late December each year. It remains on display until melted by Mother Nature.
