Drapers is reporting that Selfridges, a high-end UK department store, is dropping the plus-size Marina Rinaldi brand.
A report in The Daily Mail newspaper alleged that the department store was neglecting larger women seeking fashion clothing.
Anita Barr, director of womenswear at Selfridges, said that the decision to drop the collection was a direct reflection of the "constant updating" that the retailer undertakes to ensure that it has the right mix for its customers.
The brand's removal will leave Selfridges without a plus-size line. The removal of plus-size lines from clothing retailers and department stores has become a trend over the past couple years. Saks currently carries the Marina Rinaldi brand in the U.S. - see here.
