Sony, Microsoft and Best Buy Join Amazon in Move to End Clamshell Packaging
Amazon.com got the ball rolling last month when they announced frustrating-free packaging. Sony has now also promised death to clamshell packaging. Sony says they will soon be changing its products packaging in order to make it more user-friendly as well as environmentally responsible. They released the video below that shows people struggling to get electronics out of clamshell packaging and a person getting injured (it's fake) in the process. The video indicates that Sony understands how customers feel about the awful packaging. Sony, Microsoft, and Best Buy vowed an end to the hard-to-open packaging last month, not long after Amazon made its frustration-free packaging move. (via Kotaku)
