Video: George Clooney Talks MTV Haiti Telethon

George Clooney talks with MTV about how he got the idea to to the Hope For Haiti Now Telethon, which airs tonight nationally and internationally on CNN, CBS, MTV, and many other networks. Many A-list celebrities will be either performing (Madonna, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Sting), answering the phones (Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Zac Efron, Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Hanks), anchoring (Robert Pattinson in London, Wyclef Jean in New York, George Clooney in Los Angeles) or talking about the situation (Bill Clinton, Anderson Cooper live from Haiti). The telethon airs at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time tonight. Take a look:



"Hope for Haiti Now" began accepting donations today at 12:00 p.m. ET at its website. The telethon will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation and the Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation.

The telethon, which is the largest of its kind, will air tonight on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, CMT, PBS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Bravo, E! Entertainment, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, CENTRIC, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, EPIX, Palladia, SoapNet, Style, Discovery Health, Planet Green, CNN en Espanol, HBO Latino and Canadian networks, including CBC Television, CTV, Global Television and MuchMusic. The event will be live streamed online globally across sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Fancast, AOL, MSN.com, Yahoo, Bing.com, BET.com, CNN.com, MTV.com, VH1.com and Rhapsody, and on mobile via Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and FloTV.
