Macy's Flagship NYC Store Closed Temporarily Sunday Because of Fire

Holiday shoppers had to flee Macy's flagship store at Herald Square on Sunday because of a fire. The Wall Street Journal reports that Macy's spokesman Jim Sluzewski said the fire "may have been caused by a motor in an escalator between the third and fourth floors." The store was only closed for about 90 minutes and did reopen later in the day. There were no injuries. The AP says Macy's will be open 24 hours a day in the days leading up to Christmas.
