Survey Finds Most Holiday Shipping Offers Expire Around December 18th

The window for ordering products online and having them delivered in time for Christmas - without paying extra - is shrinking. According to Shop.org's eHoliday Study, conducted by BIGresearch, nearly two-thirds (62.3%) of retailers' shipping deadlines for Christmas delivery will fall on or before December 18th. The majority of holiday shipping deadlines (34.0%) occurring on December 18th itself.

There will still be an opportunity to get items delivered in time for Christmas after December 18th but consumers will likely have to pay more for shipping. The survey found that over half of online retailers (54.2%) will offer overnight shipping options for Christmas delivery through December 23rd.
