We are still waiting for President-elect Barack Obama to solve his puppy dilemma. In the meantime, Vice President-elect Joe Biden has a new puppy in his life. Joe Biden's wife, Jill, had promised Joe they could get a puppy during the primary campaign. Dog breeder Linda Brown took the photograph on the right of Joe Biden and his cute new 3-month-old German Shepherd puppy. Delaware Online reports that the new puppy is going to spend a few weeks training with New Castle County Police K-9 coordinator Cpl. Mark Tobin before coming to live with the Bidens.
Brown calls Biden's choice "the pick of the litter." Tobin, who trains dogs -- including Biden's -- in his off-duty hours, agreed that the pup was a good choice.
"He's well-tempered, people-friendly and social," Tobin said. "It's just a happy-go-lucky puppy."
The pup will spend the next several weeks training with Tobin before joining the Biden family.
"I'll start training him through his early life and help with transition from the kennel to the owner's home," Tobin said. "It's my pleasure to assist the Biden family."
