RadioShack to Offer $99.99 Netbook With Two-Year Contract
Starting December 14th, RadioShack will begin selling a 2.44 pound Acer Aspire 3G netbook for $99.99. The catch is that customers also have to sign up for a two-year AT&T DataConnect mobile broadband service agreement with plans starting at $60 a month. With the plan you can use your netbook to connect to the Internet anywhere within AT&T's wireless network. RadioShack's netbook deal is similar to the deals people sign when they purchase mobile phones.
jkontheRun has a good post listing the pros and cons of the deal. It can be a good deal if you plan to use the netbook frequently to connect remotely to the Internet. Engadget has specs on the Acer Aspire One netbook which include a 8.9-inch LCD screen, built-in web cam, 1 gigabyte of memory and 160GB hard drive.
