The $3.9 billion Cosmopolitan resort in Las Vegas is the last major casino resort approved before the Great Recession. It's likely to be the last new resort built for several years, given the dismal state of the U.S. economy and Las Vegas, in general. John Unwin, the CWO of Cosmopolitan says he's an optimist, not an economist. He has a different strategy to lure in guests. John says he wants to offer a different kind of vacation for travelers who had never considered Las Vegas, or who didn't have the best time there the first time the went.
