A company named Masik is launching college fragrances. So far they just have fragrances for Penn State and the University of North Carolina but they list several others that will be coming soon. College paraphernalia is a big industry so Masik is probably hoping people will want to buy the fragrance of their alma mater just like they like to buy penants and sweatshirts. Seattlepi.com notes that the college fragranes smell like flowers and not football - that's a good thing! The fragrances will be "signature scents" based on school colors, flowers, trees, mascots and other characteristics unique to each campus.
Masik's hope is that as these scents become a part of your fragrance collection, the smell may evoke memories of days spent in college. For example, smelling your school's fragrance may bring back memories of cheering on your favorite team or perhaps walking through the quad in the fall.
