Baby Butterstick Must Return to China, Panda Lovers Mourn
Sweet little Butterstick is heading to China. Nicknamed Butterstick when he was born because he was so tiny, giant panda Tai Shan must leave his home at the Washington National Zoo and go to China for breeding, as required under the original loan agreement. If Tai Shan's parents leave too (there are furious negotiations going on right now), Washington D.C. will be panda-less. That has many people quite sad. Take a look:
