Video: Obamas Host Hanukkah Ceremony at White House
President and Mrs. Obama hosted approximately 500 guests for a Hanukkah ceremony in the East Room of the White House. President Obama told the story of the origin of Hanukkah. The menorah was loaned to the White House by Congregation Beth Israel in New Orleans. The synagogue was flooded during Hurricane Katrina, but the menorah survived. Mrs. Obama wore a lovely cobalt blue sequin cardigan by L'Wren Scott, with a vintage brooch.
